Down by the sea side, you will see the weathered remains of forts which were once used by pirates as hiding places and as places from which they could conduct naval battles. Some of the most infamous pirates to inhabit these regions were the ruthless Henry Morgan and the cutthroat William Teach, better known by many as Blackbeard.
